Vecova invites donors to support seniors during 65-hour online giving event
From July 9 to 11, Vecova is participating in the second annual GIVE65 Event, a 65-hour online giving event to help charitable organizations serving seniors raise funds online and increase awareness. Senior-focused organizations throughout Canada are participating in this online event.
Vecova provides programs and services to support people of all ages and abilities in Calgary, the Bow Valley Corridor, and Rocky View. While our services do not solely serve seniors, our clients and patrons do include seniors with physical and/or developmental disabilities, who receive support primarily through our Wellness and Living Support Services.
During the GIVE65 Event, Vecova is also raising funds with the hopes of receiving up to $5,000 in matching funds from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada. Vecova is also competing for a $2,500 bonus grant. Donations of $10 or greater are accepted online at GIVE65.ca.
The 65-hour GIVE65 Event begins at 7 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 9 and concludes at midnight on July 11. This event is an initiative of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada and the first and only crowd-fundraising platform focused on helping charitable organizations across Canada raise funds for programs and services benefiting seniors.
“Every gift makes a difference in the life of a senior on the local level,” says Lenli Corbett, executive director of Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada. “We’re excited to partner with Vecova for the second-annual GIVE65 Event, and we are hopeful our partnership will inspire greater charitable giving in support of seniors who rely on the charitable sector to age with independence and dignity.”
