PRIVATE LESSONS
What to Expect During Private Swimming Lessons:
1. Initial Meeting with Your Instructor: On the first day, you will meet with your instructor to discuss your swimming goals. Together, you will decide whether you or your child will follow the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life curriculum or focus on general swimming skills without adhering to a formal program.
2. Tailored Swimming Instruction: Each private lesson consists of personalized swim instruction and coaching. This includes practicing swimming skills, drills, and activities tailored to your ability level. Whether you are learning a new stroke or fine-tuning your technique, your instructor will provide focused, one-on-one coaching.
3. Fun and Engaging Activities: To make learning enjoyable, the last 5 minutes of each lesson will include fun games and activities, giving swimmers a chance to apply their skills in a playful setting.
4. Parent Involvement: Parents are encouraged to stay at Vecova and observe the lesson from the viewing area. Watching the lesson allows you to see your child’s progress firsthand and ensures their safety. It also gives parents insight into techniques and skills being taught, which can be helpful for practicing outside of lessons.
5. Flexibility and Progress: With a private lesson, you have the flexibility to work at your own pace, revisiting skills as needed or moving on to new challenges when ready. Whether you’re aiming to master a specific stroke or develop general water confidence, these lessons are structured to help swimmers achieve success in a way that best suits them.
6. Semi-Private Swim Lessons: After successfully registering for a Private Swimming Lesson, you have the option to convert it into a Semi-Private Lesson. Both participants must have similar swimming abilities, with no more than a one-level difference between their skills. To add a second participant, please contact Consumer Services and request to have the additional swimmer added to your originally scheduled lesson. This must be done at least 1-week in advance to the first lesson.
*Private lessons can hold a maximum of 2 participants
