Lifesaving Society’s: Bronze Star

Ready to dive into aquatic leadership? Bronze Star is the first step in the Lifesaving Society’s Leadership Program. To enroll, participants should have already completed all six Swimmer levels (Swimmer 1-6) and all three Swim Patrol levels (Rookie, Ranger, and Star). This solid foundation ensures the participant is fully prepared to tackle the challenges of this advanced swim / leadership program!

Designed for Swim Patrol graduates, Bronze Star pushes participants to elevate their swimming skills, lifesaving techniques, and personal fitness to the next level. Refine your strokes, master self-rescue techniques, and build endurance through fun and dynamic training workouts. You’ll also practice critical lifesaving skills, including reaching and throwing assists, sculling, and tackling exciting obstacle courses.

If you’ve completed all three Swim Patrol levels and are ready to shine, Bronze Star is your gateway to aquatic excellence. Start your lifeguarding journey with this exciting program!

Please Note: 100% Attendance and Participation is mandatory in order for participants to successfully complete this course

Please Note: While Bronze Star has no prerequisites, participants MUST have a strong foundation in basic swim strokes and water safety knowledge. It is also recommended that participants have completed the Lifesaving Society’s Swimmer 1-6 program as well as the Rookie, Ranger, and Star Patrol awards before enrolling. Vecova does not offer Star Patrol due to its physical requirements. If your participant has not yet completed Star Patrol, we strongly recommend doing so at another facility before registering for Bronze Star at Vecova.

Please Note: Participants who are unable to demonstrate the necessary swimming skills on the first day of the program, or who may pose a safety risk to themselves or others, may be withdrawn from the program at the discretion of Vecova’s Aquatic Supervisors. Withdrawal and refund fees will apply.

The Lifesaving Society’s ‘Bronze Medal’ awards provide enriched advanced training for those 12 years or older. Participants will refine their stroke mechanics, master self-rescue techniques, and build endurance through dynamic training workouts. You’ll develop critical lifesaving skills, such as reaching and throwing assists, sculling, and tackling exciting obstacle courses. This course is excellent preparation for those considering future careers as Lifeguards or Swim Instructors.
