Intermediate First Aid – Recertification

This Intermediate First Aid Recertification is a challenge of both theory and practical examination of all skills. It is a condensed course (8h) and will cover the following topics: medical/legal aspects, spinal injuries, environmental injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chests injuries, burns, and medical emergencies. This course includes a refresher on CPR and the use of AED’s.

Individuals who register for this course are required to provide a copy of their current First Aid Certification to the Instructor the morning of the course (e.g. copy of certification card). If a participant cannot provide proof of a current First Aid Certificate, they will be removed from the course without a refund. 

Those who no longer hold a current First Aid Certification cannot register for this course and must attend an original course. 

Prerequisite(s): Current Lifesaving Standard First Aid or current Government of Alberta workplace approved Standard First Aid 

Certification Currency: 3 years from the date of certification 

Recertification: Attend Lifesaving Standard First Aid Re-certification course within the three (3) year currency period. Individuals who are unsuccessful in completing a Lifesaving Standard First Aid Recertification course are required to complete an original course. No repeat recertification courses are permitted if the first Recertification attempt is not successful.
