Employment Services for Immigrant Women

Employment Services for Immigrant Women focuses on supporting newcomers with disabilities to reach their highest potential with their employment goals. Programming includes employment preparation, employment placement and meaningful employment through one-on-one supports.

  • What we provide:
    • Assessment and planning through career exploration and individual supports.
    • Job search and skills training including essential skills and life skills training.
    • Workplace experience opportunities and ongoing one-on-one mentorship.
    • On the job and retention supports including workplace integration.
    • Language training (ESL or ELL) referrals as needed.
  • Who we support:
    • The program is available to immigrant women who have a disability or other barriers to employment.
  • Who we support: Barriers to employment could include:
    • Intellectual and Physical Disabilities
    • Learning Disability
    • Mental health challenges
    • Chronic illness
    • Social skills challenges

The Women’s Economic Recovery Challenge Grant, through the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Alberta Jobs, Economy and Innovation, will support economic opportunities for women and girls in diverse populations across the province.
