Wayfinder
Community Engagement
Vecova’s Wayfinder Community Engagement program supports adults with disabilities in Calgary and Airdrie to build meaningful lives through community connection, personal choice, and participation. Wayfinder helps individuals explore interests, develop independence, and engage in social, recreational, educational, and civic activities that support well-being and belonging.
This individualized program focuses on building self-determination, confidence, and natural support networks. Participants are supported to discover what matters to them and to take part in activities that reflect their goals, interests, and values within their community.

Our Approach
Wayfinder is personalized to each individual’s wishes, goals, and interests. Using Vecova’s EEDA framework, Explore, Experience, Decide, and Assess, participants are guided through a structured but flexible process:
- Explore: Identify interests and potential community activities
- Experience: Participate in activities to build confidence and broaden experiences
- Decide: Develop decision-making skills and choose ongoing activities
- Assess: Review interests, barriers, and supports to guide future participation
This approach ensures support remains responsive as goals and needs change over time.
