Building Self-Determination
Wayfinder empowers individuals to make informed choices, set personal goals, and have greater control over how they spend their time and participate in their community.
Leisure and Recreational Activities
Participants explore and engage in recreational and leisure activities that support mental, physical, and social well-being, including arts, sports, and community events.
Community Engagement
Wayfinder encourages active participation in community life, including local events, volunteering, and activities that build connection and a sense of belonging.
Educational and Volunteer Opportunities
Individuals are supported to pursue learning opportunities, skill development, and volunteer roles aligned with their interests and strengths.
Developing Support Networks
The program helps participants build meaningful relationships and natural supports within their community, reducing isolation and strengthening long-term inclusion.
Our Approach
Wayfinder is personalized to each individual’s wishes, goals, and interests. Using Vecova’s EEDA framework, Explore, Experience, Decide, and Assess, participants are guided through a structured but flexible process:
- Explore: Identify interests and potential community activities
- Experience: Participate in activities to build confidence and broaden experiences
- Decide: Develop decision-making skills and choose ongoing activities
- Assess: Review interests, barriers, and supports to guide future participation
This approach ensures support remains responsive as goals and needs change over time.
