Meet Michael, an unstoppable force in Vecova's online community
The COVID-19 pandemic has made an impact on the lives of everybody in our community during the past year, including the people Vecova serves. As an innovator in Canada’s disability community, Vecova continues to be innovative and resilient in our approach to supporting Albertans of all abilities. When the pandemic hit, Vecova got busy adapting our services to a rapidly changing environment. Our Wayfinder program moved online to provide individuals with a new way to connect with each other while they can’t be together in person. Several individuals seized the opportunity to step into the spotlight, including Michael – an unstoppable force in Vecova’s online community. While the COVID-19 pandemic has presented some tough adjustments for Michael, he decided to embrace new opportunities by putting himself in the spotlight of two of Vecova’s popular online Wayfinder programs. The two things Michael likes best, food and fitness, became his source of resilience. He stepped up front and centre with flair and personality to host a segment on Wayfinder’s online Recipe of the Week and Homebody Fitness classes.
