Vecova’s Living Connected Housing Event

Vecova is excited to host its second annual fundraising event to support the critical
housing needs of adults with disabilities living in our community homes.
This year, we’re especially excited to feature Wakefield Brewster, who will share a powerful poem reflecting on housing, dignity, and the meaning of home. We’re also introducing a silent auction, with proceeds directly supporting Vecova’s Housing Services and the behind-the-scenes work that makes safe, inclusive housing possible.

What to expect
Living Connected is an evening designed to bring people together around the realities of housing and disability, grounded in lived experience, honest conversation, and shared connection.
You’ll hear a powerful spoken-word performance from Wakefield Brewster, reflecting on housing, dignity, and the meaning of home. Throughout the evening, you’ll also have the opportunity to engage with Vecova Housing Consumers, community leaders, and supporters who care deeply about creating safe, inclusive housing so no one is left to navigate life alone.
The event will include:
- Thought-provoking storytelling and conversation
- A silent auction, with proceeds supporting Vecova’s housing services
- Opportunities to learn how you can take action on the housing crisis
- Appetizers and drinks in a welcoming, social setting
Whether you come to listen, connect, or contribute, Living Connected is about building understanding, community, and momentum, together.
If you or your organization are interested in sponsoring the event or contributing a silent auction prize, we would love your support. Please email Michelle Thompson at [email protected] to connect about sponsorships or prizes.
