Living Connected: A Vecova Housing Event

May 01, 2026

Finding a place to live is about more than just four walls, it’s about feeling connected, supported, and truly at home. That spirit was at the heart of the second annual Living Connected Housing Event, hosted by Vecova, an inspiring evening dedicated to building inclusive, connected communities. Guests gathered in support of the critical housing needs of adults with disabilities living in Vecova’s community homes.

The evening was both meaningful and memorable, highlighted by Wakefield Brewster, who shared a powerful and moving poem about housing, dignity, and the true meaning of home. His words captured the essence of the event, reminding everyone that housing is not just a necessity but a foundation for belonging and respect.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised over $9,000, alongside 18 thoughtful contributions through the Wishing Tree. These contributions will directly support programs and housing initiatives that empower individuals to live more independently while staying connected to their communities.

What made the evening especially impactful was the sense of collaboration and gratitude. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the hosts, Dennis Agbegha, the dedicated housing service managers Monica, Luke, and Tom, Vecova Housing Consumers, and every guest who showed up to support this important cause. Their collective effort brought the vision of “living connected” to life.

Beyond fundraising, the event served as a reminder that inclusive housing benefits everyone. When people are given the opportunity to live in spaces designed for connection and accessibility, entire communities grow stronger, more compassionate, and more vibrant.

Vecova continues to lead the way in reimagining housing, not just as a place to live, but as a place to belong.
