Vecova's Employment Services Calgary created the Newcomer Employment Program, made possible by the City of Calgary’s Family & Community Support Services (FCSS), a joint municipal-provincial initiative that funds preventive social services. This program is designed to help individuals facing employment barriers gain the confidence, skills, and connections they need to succeed. Seeking feedback on your resume? Or a chance to practice networking in a welcoming space? Join us! Vecova is hosting an engaging in-person event focused on helping newcomers feel more prepared and confident in their job search.

Become a Community Support Volunteer and help newcomers feel welcome and connected. Whether you're sharing job leads, offering friendly conversation, or helping organize resources, your kindness can make a big impact.
We’re also growing our team of Volunteer Language Interpreters, with a special need for speakers of Urdu, Farsi (Persian), and Dari though volunteers who speak other languages are always welcome!
Language Support Volunteers help with:
- Basic interpretation during small group check-ins
- Explaining community or employment resources
- Providing peer encouragement
- Sharing ideas to improve the accessibility of our materials
