This spring, the Vecova Bottle Pick-Up trucks got a new look that will help boost recognition while they are out picking up empty bottle donations in Calgary. Bottles picked up for recycling at the Vecova Bottle Depot, are processed as donations to Vecova and support our programs, research and services for people with disabilities.
“It is important to raise awareness of who we are, and the services that we provide for the community,” says Matthew Nomura, Director of Employment & Enterprise. “With this bold new design, we hope that people will be inspired to learn more about the Bottle Pick-Up, and Calgarians will gain a better understanding of how people with disabilities are integral to building a vibrant economy and community.”
The trucks now sport the logo and the bright yellow and grey colours of Vecova to grab people’s attention as they travel through communities. The Bottle Pick-Up is a social enterprise with an integrated workforce, and reflects Vecova’s vision for persons with disabilities to have opportunities to grow their careers and be active members in a vital workplace.
“We are very happy with the new design,” says Bottle Depot Manager Ron Meeres. “It is a great opportunity to share our vision with others.”
Keep an eye out for the Vecova Bottle Pick-Up trucks around Vecova and throughout Calgary!
