Contracts

Vecova has several competitive business contracts with a social purpose. These contracts enable Vecova to share an inclusive workforce across the city of Calgary through organizations like the Calgary Airport and the University of Calgary. By employing people with disabilities, we demonstrate that a business can operate profitably and ethically with an integrated workforce.

Airport Contract

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, more than 30 Vecova employees at the Calgary International Airport ensure that complementary baggage carts are strategically located to meet the demands of departing and arriving travelers.

With more than 3,300 carts to manage, our baggage cart retrievers have developed an intricate system for collecting the carts from all over the airport terminals and parking lots placing them when and where they are needed most.

We are an award-winning service that has many times placed first in North America for baggage cart availability. We also placed first in the world for baggage cart availability, compared to hundreds of other airports of varying size.

Vecova’s Airport Baggage Cart Service is a competitive business contract with a social purpose. The Calgary Airport Authority has twice awarded the contract to Vecova through a competitive RFP process.

By employing people with disabilities, we demonstrate that a business can operate profitably and ethically with an integrated workforce. The Airport Contract lends credibility to Vecova’s work in finding employment for persons with disabilities by modeling success as well as reflecting our vision of an inclusive community.

University of Calgary Recycling Contract

Vecova has a long-standing relationship with the University of Calgary and recycling. Since 1997 clients of Vecova Disability Services have gathered cardboard and paper in buildings around campus and ensured it gets to designated bins for recycling. This important contract provides income as well as valuable work experience for up to 27 persons with disabilities each month.
