Looking for a unique way to give back to your community? Adopt-A-House offers organizations, groups or individuals the opportunity to contribute to their community in a meaningful way.
Vecova’s Adopt-A-House initiative provides support for our Living Support Services, which has over 96 adults with developmental disabilities currently living in homes that are owned and managed by Vecova. These homes provide people with disabilities 24-hour care and community support. Homes that cater to persons with disabilities incur high maintenance costs due to significant wear and tear, from old barbeques that no longer work to cracked tiles and chipped paint.
To ensure that the homes owned and managed by Vecova are up to the correct standards, and the individuals are receiving the required support, we need to customize some areas of the houses and this requires extensive materials and funds.
How can you help?
You and your friends, family or colleagues can get together and raise money towards new items and materials for Vecova’s homes. You can also volunteer to complete projects inside and outside the homes with these materials. Alternatively, you can donate financially by making a donation online here.
Vecova is currently looking for help with these items:
- New furniture for basements and living rooms
- Painting projects (indoor and outdoor)
- Flooring repair and replacement
