The Board of Directors exists to provide active leadership and governance to Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research. The role of the Board is to govern the organization and serve as its accountable body. The Board helps create the vision, mission, values and policies for the organization and makes sure that they are properly respected. Also, financial oversight is one of the key responsibilities of a non-profit Board.
The Board operates based on an approved manner of governing.
Organizational Vision, Mission and Goals
With a long-term vision and mission, the Board determines which human needs have to be met, for whom and at what cost. The Board’s main and continual focus is to make policy that carries out this vision for the organization. The Board does not get involved in the ‘means and ways’ part of the process; these are the purview of the CEO and staff. It is important to differentiate the activities from the results to which the activities lead; the Board’s role is limited to the results, the CEO is responsible for the processes and activities to achieve these results.
Governed by a strong and active Board of Directors, Vecova is pleased to have the dynamic support and guidance of community and rehabilitation industry leaders.
