Vecova is a non-profit, service and research agency supporting persons with disabilities to live, learn and work in their community. Vecova has several full-time and part-time opportunities for dynamic and flexible individuals to join our team in Community Disability Services Worker (CDSW) and Community Disability Services Practitioner (CDSP) positions.
As an integral part of our strong Services team, you will provide high-quality services and supports to adults in a variety of settings including community living, employment and community access. In addition to providing excellent client services, each position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to establish collaborative and effective working relationships.
Positions available now involve day, evening, and weekend work - perfect for students and others, who require flexibility in their work schedules.
Qualifications for Community Disability Services Worker
- Completed Foundations in Community Disability Studies course training and/or post Secondary education and with related experience
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Demonstrate oral and written skills to meet planning and reporting requirements
Qualifications for Community Disability Services Practitioner
- Diploma in Community Disability Services Studies or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
- Responsible for writing client service plans.
Community Disability Services Worker Positions
Position 1.
This position will provide support to a variety of clients during the week in a wide range of settings. Service includes community employment and community access support, to meet clients in various settings a vehicle for work is required. 36.5 Monday to Friday shifts range from working 8:30am - 3:30pm and 8:30am - 4:00pm
Position 2.
This position will provide community living, employment support and community access service to a variety of clients. 26 hours per week Monday and Tuesday 8:00am- 4:00pm, Wednesday off, Thursday 9:00am - 3:30pm, Friday 9:00am - 12:30pm
Position 3.
This position supports a variety of clients in a wide range of settings with community employment and community access service. 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Community Disability Services Practitioner
Position 1.
This position provides community employment, community access and community living service to a variety of clients. 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday hours of work include 8:30am - 3:00pm and 8:00am - 4:00pm
Position 2.
This position provides community living and community access support to clients living in the NW of the city. Applicants must be experienced supported individuals with complex behaviors. 21 hours per week, Thursday 4:30pm - 10:00pm, Friday 3:30pm - 11:00pm sleepover Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Position 3.
This vacancy requires appliants to have prtevious experince and skills supporting clients with complex and risk behaviors. Throughout the week clients will be supported with community access and employment service, a vehicle to transport clients is required for this position. 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm
Position 4.
This vacancy will provide community livivng and community access support to clients that live in the NW of the city. 30 hours per week Wednesday 9:00am - 5:00pm, Thursday noon-8:00pm,
Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm, Saturday 4:00pm - midnight
Position 5.
This position will support clients with community employment and community access support. Applicants must have experience supporting individuals with complex needs, previous experience supporting individuals with a mental health challenges will be beneficial. 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm
Position 6.
This position will work with a wide range of teams, providing coverage where required in all the service areas of Vecova's Services Department, a car is required for this position. 32hours per week Sunday to Wednesday 8:00am - 4:00pm term for one year of hire date.

The work schedule includes supporting the client a the 41 person half-way house, which provides a supportive environment for the successful reintegration of offenders into the community.
